Between Garmisch and Farchant, 80 meters above the Loisach Valley, the Werdenfels Castle ruins perch majestically. Before its decline, until 1632, it served as the administrative center of the County of Werdenfels. Today, from up there, you have a beautiful view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Wetterstein Mountains.
